If the respondent is not the prevailing party, the court may assess against the respondent all direct expenses and costs incurred by the district attorney and law enforcement officers under ORS 109.821 or 109.824. ����� 109.831 Application and construction. In applying and construing ORS 109.701 to 109.834, consideration must be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among states that enact it. [1999 c.649 �40]

����� 109.834 Severability clause. If any provision of ORS 109.701 to 109.834 or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of ORS 109.701 to 109.834 that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of ORS 109.701 to 109.834 are severable.
